Jonathan “JB” Benedict is a composer, songwriter, and music producer based in NYC. His current project is JB_Meta, a playful critique of corporate culture and modern society and with nods to 80’s NYC disco and new wave.

JB made his music debut as Lindbergh Palace with producer/engineer Josh Harris, and together they became known for their creative dance remixes of The Killers, Rihanna, Yoko Ono, and many others. Lindbergh Palace later expanded into a band with the addition of vocalist Leah Hayes and guitarist Alex Hamadey, and together they released two EP’s of songs as well as an EP of remixes.  

During this time, JB also began working with Azealia Banks, producing her early demos and helping craft and record the tracks which became her debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste.  He also scored his first two feature films, “Hello Lonesome” with Jones Street Station, and “Putzel” with his partner Rob Niederpruem.  He produced three folk-pop albums for Jones Street Station, and continues to tour and collaborate with JSS band members when the opportunity presents itself.

Rob and JB co-founded Hyperballad Music, a music-for-picture company and boutique recording studio.  With this new facility, JB has written for an extensive list of brands, including Google, Pepsi, Ford Motors, BMW, YSL, Prada, and many more.  His compositions have been featured in Super Bowl Ads and major campaigns around the world. He and Rob also released their first EP as Fete Sad Girls, a producer project with a rotating cast of singers, with a new EP expected soon.

In 2024, he launched his JB_Meta project, which sees him stepping into the frontman role to critique a wide range of current topics, from tech companies to merchandising to education, but always with a subversive, self-aware panache.
